Adult with squints can be helped by surgery - 27th November 2014

After many years being an eye surgeon it still surprises me to find that my most grateful patients are those who have had squint surgery as an adult. Whist they may have had surgery as a child these people have often put up with a residual squint for many years having been told nothing further can be done. They usually tell themselves it doesn’t bother them yet go to extraordinary lengths to hide the fact they have a squint. I have seen some very inventive hairstyles attempting to cover the offending eye! The only regret has been that they didn’t have their squint fixed sooner, even people in their seventies.

So if you have a squint and it bothers you, no matter what your age, get it looked at by someone. You never know.
